Lichfield Heritage Weekend September 18th & 19th

July 5, 2010

I’ve been asked to perform for Lichfield Heritage Weekend on Sunday September 19th which this year features a 1940s theme.

I’m pleased and excited about this particular booking because Lichfield is my home town and Lichfield Heritage Weekend always attracts lots of visitors to the city.  The festival celebrates Lichfield long and illustrious history and always takes place on the weekend closest to the birthday of the city’s most famous son, Samuel Johnson (author of the famous Dictionary of the English Language) which is September 18th.

I’ll be performing at the Heritage Centre in the heart of Lichfield.  The Centre is in the city’s market square opposite the statue of Samuel Johnson and his birthplace museum.  I’ll be performing two sets, at 12.30 and 2pm in the Heritage Centre’s cafe which will include 1940s favourites from my repertoire including “Chattanooga Choo Choo” and “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree”.

If you’re in Lichfield on September 19th do drop in and say hello.  I’m told that the cafe will be serving a special menu with a 1940s twist… spam, anyone?
