Le Vintage Wedding Fair? C’est Chic!

March 9, 2012

In a world where pretty much everyone organising a wedding fayre seems to be jumping on the “vintage” bandwagon here’s a quick plug for those vintage pioneers, The Vintage Chic Wedding Fair whose next splendid event is taking place in Birmingham on April 22nd.

Cathy and Susie are the sisters behind the fairs and have established the Vintage Chic brand as one of the country’s top wedding fayres, vintage or otherwise.  Spaces at their fairs are snapped up by eager exhibitors months in advance and I’m delighted to have been part of their success since the very first fair in Worcester in 2010.

The fairs offer brides the opportunity to meet a host of suppliers – from cake makers to florists, photographers to event stylists – who all have one thing in common, a passion for all things vintage.

Here’s a video by the marvelous Keith Bloomfield that he shot at the fair last October which features yours truly singing “Pennies From Heaven”:

I sing throughout the day at every fayre, performing a selection of numbers from my extensive repertoire of songs from the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s.  These two fabulous photos were taken last time by Theresa Furey:

The next fair on April 22nd is being staged at The Centennial Centre, 100 Icknield Port Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham B16 0AA.  Tickets cost £5 and are available from the Vintage Chic Wedding Fair website.

See you there!

    Hi Simon

It was such a treat to hear you sing at the Vintage Chic Fairs last year, you have an amazing talent, such a wonderful voice! We would have definitely had you you to sing at our wedding but our entertainment was already booked when we found you and unfortunately our budget wouldn’t stretch much further as it would have been the icing on the cake to have a singer in the day too!

I really look forward to seeing and hearing you at the next fair! In the meantime I’m very pleased to see you have released a CD!

    Katrina
